Air India has introduced ‘ZipAhead’, a paid service designed to offer priority check-in and baggage handling for Economy Class passengers on domestic flights. This initiative is aimed at time-sensitive travelers who typically do not have access to priority services, ensuring a smoother airport experience.
Key Benefits of ‘ZipAhead’
With ‘ZipAhead,’ passengers can check in at designated Premium Economy counters, reducing wait times and speeding up the process. Additionally, their baggage will receive priority handling, allowing for quicker retrieval upon arrival.
Currently, the service is available at six major airports across India:
- Delhi
- Mumbai
- Hyderabad
- Chennai
- Bengaluru
- Kolkata
Pricing Details
The cost of the service varies based on the time of purchase:
- ₹499 – If booked more than six hours before departure
- ₹699 – If booked within six hours of departure
Passengers can avail of ‘ZipAhead’ up to 75 minutes before departure through multiple platforms, including Air India’s website, mobile app, airport ticketing offices (ATO), and customer contact center.
Loyalty Program Benefits
Gold and Platinum members of Air India’s Maharaja Club loyalty program will continue to enjoy priority check-in and baggage handling at no extra cost, irrespective of their travel class.
