Thailand New scheme Buy International, Free Thailand Domestic Flights

Thailand is rolling out an exciting new travel initiative designed to make exploring the country’s hidden gems even more appealing for international visitors. The new program, called “Buy International, Get Free Domestic Flights,” aims to encourage tourists to venture beyond Thailand’s well-known destinations like Bangkok and Phuket and discover lesser-known locales throughout the nation. According to Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong, the government plans to request a 700 million baht budget to fund the program, as reported by The Nation Thailand.

How the “Free Domestic Flights” Program Will Work

The initiative will allow foreign travelers to receive complimentary domestic flights within Thailand when they purchase international flight tickets to the country. The government will cover domestic one-way flights priced at 1,750 baht (or 3,500 baht for a round-trip). These flights will connect tourists to a variety of destinations, including UNESCO World Heritage sites, popular tourist spots, and key regions throughout Thailand.

The program is set to run from August to December 2025, with flights available from September through November. To qualify for the offer, international travelers—Indian tourists included—must book their international flights through participating airlines, travel agencies, or flight platforms offering multi-city, fly-thru, or bundled services. Each traveler is entitled to two domestic flights (one for departure and one for return), along with a generous 20 kg baggage allowance.

This initiative is expected to not only boost tourism to lesser-known parts of Thailand but also provide an exciting opportunity for travelers to experience the diverse landscapes, cultures, and attractions across the country.
